Reason for expectations: Bala's fifth feature film is a comedy (and probably a little drama too). Avan Ivan, with its reportedly riotous starcast of Arya and Vishal will be releasing this weekend. Avan Ivan also stars Janani Iyer, Madhu Shalini and Ambika among others. The movie tracks the lives and times of two brothers, played by Arya and Vishal and their struggles with life (in a humorous manner).

Significant of Vishal's many avatars for the movie include squint eye and his transgender garb. Vishal has repeatedly told the media that his combo with Arya would be like the times of Goundamani and Senthil. So who is Goundamani and who is Senthil? Looks like Arya will bear the brunt of Vishal's anger; Senthil and Goundamani that makes them in that order.

After the emotionally draining Naan Kadavul, Bala took up this comedy. And it took about a year to complete (an improvement from his previous films that took for him years to complete). The movie also has generated positive vibes after the release of a few promotional posters and Yuvan's sound track.

Audience: Other than both Arya and Vishal fans, who would be eager to watch the movie, there will also be the Bala fans. They are usually serious men who want to delve into the mysteries of life. But for a change, Bala decides to treat them with the lighter side of life. And we hope it works for him and his fans.
